The kitchen was designed and fitted by a local artisan is is made from solid oak with black granite worktops. The oak units have a painted, washed finish and are fully sealed. All the appliances are SMEG: Range cooker with six burners and a large multi- purpose oven: Extractor Hood and fan: Dishwasher and an under surface fridge. A double sink, crafted from a single block of stone, is fitted with a large mixer tap over. There is a specially designed working island with a matching granite worktop and drawers and cupboards under. A separate matching and movable dresser unit stands next to the window that looks out to the garden.. There are numerous downlights and recently fitted main ceiling lights. There are two large radiators in the kitchen and two windows give plenty of light during the day. From the window by the sink there is a view towards the North and nearby lane leading to the house.

The adjoining living area is large enough for a ten seater table as well as a sofa and easy chairs. The original open fire has been replaced with a Jotul wood burning stove and the chimney replaced and lined. The wood burning stove is run most of the winter and the oil fired central heating used to provide background heating , making it a very warm and homely house. This room is very bright receiving light from the kitchen area and the two large windows which have southerly views across the garden to the adjoining field where horses are grazed and deer can be seen on a regular basis.
