The staircase is 1.2m wide all the way to the top of the house, the second floor. This gives very easy access and no problems with the moving of large furniture or beds. The staircase was completely replaced in 2005 and now forms a feature of the house. On the ground floor the under stairs space provides a very large cupboard or ''cav" with ample storage at an ideal temperature. Half way to the first floor are additional original stairs to the two large back bedrooms.

The double doors to the South facing garden are original and a full length curtain is provided inside these doors to ensure heat retention in winter. The hall and stairs are provided with a number of new radiators. The hall and stair-well were plastered and decorated in 2008. Doors lead off to the 'grand-salon' and living room on the ground floor and to the back stairs and the first floor bedrooms. It is open plan to the second floor study area. There are windows at every level giving a huge feeling of space brightness to the house.
